For over a year, we went back and forth on a dream that never left the back of our minds — starting our own clothing brand. We were inspired by the culture, the grind, and the pride that runs deep through the streets of the Bay Area, but like most things in life, timing and doubt kept holding us back.
We were both raised in South San Francisco, and while our paths and perspectives have been different, our roots shaped the same hustle and heart. I was working full time, putting in hours to support our family, and my wife had stepped away from the workforce about eight years ago to focus on our home and raising our daughter. We both had the same question: Is this the right time to take a risk?
We talked about it. A lot. Long nights, car rides, and kitchen table conversations — going back and forth about the idea of creating something bigger than ourselves. We wanted something that felt real… something that represented us. Not just a business, but a brand that could carry the pride of our community, our roots, and our hustle.
Eventually, we stopped asking, “What if?” and started asking, “Why not us?”
On Feb 28, 2023…. Bay Area Royalty was born.
It’s more than clothing. It’s a movement. A tribute to the culture that raised us — where royalty isn’t about crowns or thrones, but about standing tall in who you are, where you’re from, and what you represent. The Bay taught us resilience, creativity, and the power of being unapologetically bold. That’s what we pour into every design.
Starting this brand was a leap of faith — one we took together. And while the path hasn’t always been smooth, we wouldn’t trade it for anything. Because every shirt, every hat, every drop… it’s a piece of our story and a piece of the Bay.
